The opportunity - Te tūranga

This role is responsible for creating compelling, accurate, fair and balanced news bulletins within the Breakfast programme. To support EP Breakfast to lead and manage a team of producers, reporters and presenters in the production of daily content for the Breakfast programme and its digital offer. To be viewed as a senior leader within Breakfast team.

• Proven experience in broadcast journalism and production.
• Maintains a good general knowledge and a keen awareness of local, national and international events and across daily news developments.
• Experience in managing the logistics of programme productions.
• Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High level decision-making skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proven editorial skills and knowledge of media law.
• Good general knowledge across industry.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Focused, and performs well under pressure.
• Able to work with deadlines.
• Ability to guide, help and have trust of presenters and staff on daily/weekly basis.
