The Night Awake Assistant will be awake and present to the needs of all core members of a L’Arche home. These needs may include but are not limited to emotional support and personal care support. The Night Awake Assistant will keep a record of events that they update on an hourly basis or more often if needed. Additional duties such as cleaning will be required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in spoken and written English and able to effectively articulate thoughts and ideas in a team setting
- Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening
- Valid CPR & First Aid certification
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to be flexible and manage the stress of multi-faceted responsibilities and management
- Ability to remain calm, focused and clear in times of crisis
- Ability to take direction and follow-through on commitments in timely fashion
- Open to learn and grow; able to give and receive feedback
- Ability to directly address tensions in relationships
Start date: December 3, 2024
Location: L’Arche Cape Breton
Salary: commensurate with experience
Duration: permanent full time, 40 hours weekly
