Night Support Care Specialist

Position Details

• Pay Rates:

Mon–Fri: €16.80 per hour

Saturday: €18.48 per hour

Sunday: €22.40 per hour

• Shifts:

Week 1: 3 shifts

Week 2: 4 shifts

Shifts are 12 hours

Must be available every second weekend and for bank holidays

• Contract:

One-year fixed term

6-month probationary period

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive overnight care and support to residents, ensuring their safety and comfort
• Respond promptly to residents’ needs and requests throughout the night
• Assist with personal care routines, including mobility, hygiene, and medication reminders
• Monitor residents’ well-being and report any concerns to the appropriate team members
• Maintain accurate records and complete nightly documentation
• Support a calm, respectful, and homely environment for all residents
• Liaise with Emergency Medical Services if necessary

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care or support role
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work night shifts, every second weekend, and bank holidays
• Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the Sisters of Mercy

Experience:

• Care: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• QQI Level 5 (required)
• A Driving Licence (FULL) (preferred)
