JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting Viatels customers, network infrastructure and datacentre environments, from Viatels 24x7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing quality support for corporate customers, updating and resolving customer faults within SLA, and in a professional manner.
- Monitoring and proactive support of all devices within Viatels Cloud and Network services including but not limited to:
- Global Data Network
- Datacentre Environment
- Cloud Infrastructure
- Storage, Back-Up & DR Technologies

Voice Network
- Perform shift handover, detailing any outstanding issues which require attention.
- Opening quality tickets and following the correct incident management procedures to own, track, report, and document resolution of problems.
- Effective control and ownership of network change requests, through the change processes, measured by the impact on service availability.
- Handle hands and eyes & access requests from datacentre customers.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in network support essential.
- Experience in SIP / VoIP / Cloud support a bonus.
- Ability to operate as part of a 24x7x365 shift rota.
- Support experience or previous experience with a technology company is preferable.
- Third level technical qualification an advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Knowledge of network technologies is essential.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies is preferable.
- Knowledge of SIP and VoIP is a bonus.
- Experience in using network monitoring tools preferable.
PERSONAL SKILLS:
- An ability to understand and speak fluent English
- The ability to work effectively within a team, i.e. sharing knowledge, offering help etc…
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels.
- Ability to work in isolation when working on shift rotation.
- Commitment to learning and development of creative support solutions.
