Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and passengers. You will be responsible for operating various commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, and specialty vehicles, while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Your expertise in driving will help us deliver exceptional service to our clients and contribute to the smooth operation of our logistics.

What you’ll do

  • Operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, box trucks, and dump trucks to transport goods or passengers safely.
  • Execute route driving efficiently while following all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo using equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with mechanical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding schedules, routes, and any issues that arise during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients during deliveries or pickups.
  • Assist in training new drivers on best practices for safety and operational efficiency.

Basic qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
  • Proven experience in commercial driving or related fields such as delivery driving or shuttle driving.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving.
  • Familiarity with both manual transmission vehicles and automatic vehicles.
  • Previous warehouse experience that includes freight handling.
  • Military experience related to transportation or logistics is a plus.
