About the Role

As a Nurse Educator in our Practice and Development Group, you will be at the forefront of advancing nursing practice, championing quality improvement, and implementing evidence-based care initiatives.
This part-time role (working 20 hours per week) offers an exciting opportunity to mentor, educate, and inspire nurses within our organisation, driving excellence in care within the Medical and Surgical departments. Collaborate with a forward-thinking leadership team and make a lasting impact on nursing practice and patient outcomes.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Practice Development Group plays a pivotal role in supporting nursing excellence through mentorship, education, and innovation. Situated in the sunny Bay of Plenty, this role offers a unique chance to work in a region renowned for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and a supportive community. The Medical and Surgical departments are dynamic environments, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering professional growth.
About you
Your expertise in medical and surgical nursing and commitment to advancing evidence-based practice make you an ideal candidate for this role.
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Significant experience in medical and surgical nursing specialties.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver educational initiatives.
- Strong commitment to quality improvement and advancing nursing practice.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
