RN Nurse Educator

Responsibilities:

  • Support Director of Nursing with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating daily functions as it relates to the all Nursing Departments current rules, guidelines and regulations which govern long term care facility. This includes training and education to nursing staff of regulatory compliance that are applicable by discipline.
  • Recommends equipment needed to ensure quality care can be delivered to residents.
  • Responds to resident call bell and refer resident/family request to appropriate health team member.
  • Gather and familiarize distinctiveness with daily supervisory report.
  • Problem Solve and trouble-shoot issues/concerns with team or independently; use sound-judgment and develop resolutions that foster win/win solutions; reports same to Director of Nursing.
  • Respond to educational needs of the staff, residents and visitors; be available for all tours and weekends as needed by the facility.
  • Maintains appropriate educational records to ensure we remain compliant with federal, state and local requirements.
  • Participates in the assessment of learning/resource needs and the establishment of educational programs for all departments in the facility.
  • Assists with the implementation of SIGMA in the facility.
  • Provides SIGMA training to staff.
  • Audits SIGMA documentation to ensure staff compliance and understanding.
  • Oversees and participates in Environmental/Safety/Infection Control Rounds Weekly.
  • Ensures staff following Infection Control Guidelines.
  • Monitor nursing care to ensure that all residents are treated fairly and with dignity, kindness and respect.
  • Consistently reports to work on time and is ready to begin work at the start of the shift. Always provides proper notification when late or absent.
  • Reports to work well groomed and in compliance with dress code. Wears ID badge while on duty.
  • Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the work place.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of work flow. Able to perform duties independently with minimal need for direct supervision.
  • Ensures that Nursing personnel follow established facility policies including dress code.
