Job Description
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide care for VA members and their families. Nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses who provide comprehensive healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various medical conditions, often with the ability to prescribe medications. They focus on patient-centered care, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. The NP performs physical exams, diagnoses, and treats diseases and other health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Perform physical examinations and order diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide patient education on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Stay updated on best practices and advancements in healthcare.
- Advocate for patients and facilitate access to necessary resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NP Board Certification.
- State-specific licensure as a nurse practitioner is required to practice.
Education Required:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. They must also hold a valid registered nurse (RN) license and obtain national certification in their specialty area, such as family, pediatrics, or adult-gerontology.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation| Min: $87hr Max: $125hr
