Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated and innovative Nurse for the role of Nurse Specialist Family Liaison (NS-FL) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role provides care coordination for whānau and has a distinctive place in liaising between all the multidisciplinary team members and the whānau of the pēpi in our care.
In this role you will co-ordinate and facilitate the appropriate delivery of health care services working in partnership with whānau empowering them to be informed, confident and competent navigators in health care environment. The intention is to also reduce fragmentation and improve the whānau experience. The coordination of care in done in accordance with FiCare and underpinned by development care principles.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
We have a permanent position available for an exceptional, forward thinking nurse specialist. You will need excellent communication skills to establish effective relationships with whānau and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). The ability to work in partnership with whānau and foster collaboration within the MDT are important skills for this role.
To be successful you will:
- Have NZ Nursing Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
- Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice
- Completed Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education Program (Level 1)
- Have a Masters degree in nursing or health related area (Desired)
