Description
The Hamilton County Health Department has a responsibility to respond quickly and efficiently when public health emergencies occur. All Hamilton County Health Department employees are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and they are accessible should a public health emergency arise. The Hamilton County Health Department maintains a call down system to store contact information and mobilize staff in the event of an emergency. During a public health emergency, all staff are required to respond should a call to mobilize be made. During a public health emergency, work hours for any and all Hamilton County Health Department employees are subject to modification to meet the needs of the community.
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing specialized health care promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, psychosocial and physical assessment; investigation, treatment, education, and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STD's), infectious diseases, prenatal care, family planning, and quality assessment improvement. Has both clinical experience and a passion for teaching. Typically work in a clinical setting, providing instruction to new nurses and ongoing training for other health professionals.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and one (1) year of work experience. Must possess the ability to communicate well and effectively in oral and written forms and presentations. Current CPR Certification and a valid driver's License are required.
OR
An Associate's Degree in Nursing and three (3) years of work experience. Must possess an active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Current CPR Certification and a valid driver's License are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in teaching, developing, and presenting educational activities in varying formats is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires long periods of standing, walking, lifting supplies weighing up to ten (10) pounds, assisting patients in transfers to examination tables, performing routine lab work such as blood draws and specimen collection; and extended periods of extensive contact with infectious diseases; ability to drive an automobile.
