Nursery Person

Strawberries on Seddon Limited in Waikato is currently recruiting recruiting for the full-time, permanent role of a Nursery Person.

You must have at least 3 years of work experience and/or a level 4 qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• prepare soil mixes and composts
• selecting seeds, bulbs and cuttings, and planting them in beds, lawn areas and tubs
• spraying
• indoor irrigation
• processing bulbs
• applying pesticides to control pests, diseases, weeds and nutritional and environmental plant disorders
• growing plants from seeds and cuttings
• soil mixtures, plantings, treatments, losses and yields
• water, feed, prune, pot and label plants
• operate and maintain irrigation systems
• organise stock and dispatch
• advising customers and appropriate plants for local conditions
• spray plants to control weeds, pests and diseases
• drive tractors, forklifts and delivery trucks.

What We Offer:

• Competitive pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour.
• 32-hour minimum work week and maximum of 40 hours
