Occupational Therapist - Dargaville Hospital
  • Based at Dargaville Hospital
  • Permanent part time role working 36-hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist to provide Community and Adult Rehab Occupational Therapy service to inpatients and outpatients which best meets their needs, promoting independence, safety, self-determination, individual and family wellbeing.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Dargaville Hospital provides hospital level and community care to the people of Kaipara. Services include a 12-bed general ward and an 8-bed detoxification ward with various allied and community health services as well as other health providers available.

About you

The requirements of this role are:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practicing certificate
  • Equipment Assessors Accreditation
  • Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good working knowledge of emotional and social issues as they relate to individuals, their families and the wider community
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Previous experience within a rural health setting would be preferable however if you have less experience but a lot of interest, please apply now!
