- Permanent, full-time role 1FTE (80 Hours per fortnight)
- Must have a New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate
- Current clean New Zealand Driver’s license
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Occupational Therapist rotational programme consists of rotations that are 6 – 9 months long and includes the following areas –
Inpatients – This will provide you with experience in three main areas on the acute wards including, medical, orthopaedics, surgical, ICU and rehabilitation.
Community Rotation – working with community team North or South, with clients within their own home and problem solving the challenges they face and upskill your community rehabilitation, equipment and housing modifications knowledge.
ART/ARTHA – You will be a part of an interdisciplinary Allied Health team that is includes physiotherapists and social workers. This work consists of treatment and interventions in the emergency department, Acute Assessment unit (AAU), with St Johns and in the community.

You will need to have: -
Essential:
- A commitment to translating evidence into practice.
- A commitment to biculturalism.
- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori.
- An understanding of healthcare in New Zealand.
- Computer literacy: Microsoft word, Microsoft outlook.
Desired:
- Experience working in the above clinical areas.
- Knowledge of standardised assessment and outcome measures.
- Knowledge of ACC and MOH health funding streams.
- Prioritise using time management and delegation skills.
- Demonstrate ability to facilitate team working.
You will be able to: -
- Work as effective team member.
- Show evidence of ongoing learning.
- Demonstrate an understanding of significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way to your role.
