Bidwill Trust Hospital is a modern, purpose-built private surgical hospital located in Timaru, South Canterbury. Having provided quality care to the people of South Canterbury, the hospital was rebuilt in 2001 and redeveloped in 2011. With just 15 inpatient beds, and a 14-bed day surgery unit, Bidwill offers personalised care and attention to its patients.

Due to one of their staff members relocating out of town, they are looking for a new full-time Office Manager to join their collaborative team and lead the front office and finance areas.

This role has a key focus on finance, so our ideal candidate has strong experience in financial administration, along with excellent relationship building and general administration skills.


Key duties will include:

  • Leading and supporting a small administrative team
  • Ensuring a positive work environment
  • Overseeing workloads and workflow, ensuring adequate staff cover
  • Financial management including monthly accounts preparation, creditor statements, reconciling bank accounts, and entering key information
  • Ensuring pricing is up to date for correct invoicing of accounts
  • Reconciling key information between MYOB and the patient management system
  • Oversight of other finance activities including ACC and Southern Cross contracts
  • Collation and reconciliation of payroll and PAYE
  • Report generation and collation for board meetings and Ministry of Health

Other activities will encompass general administration and assisting at reception where required to support other staff, continuous quality improvement, overseeing health and safety within the team, and engaging in new policy and process development.

You will also have strong technical/computer skills including Excel, experience with a computerised accounting system (eg MYOB or Xero), excellent time management, and a desire to support your team to ensure their success.
