Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / SolidWorks Designer & Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will oversee production operations, prepare SolidWorks drawings, and generate accurate quotations for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shop floor operations and production activities.
- Create and modify 3D models, shop drawings, and flat patterns using SolidWorks.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates based on materials, labour, machining, finishing, and production processes.
- Coordinate production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
- Provide technical support to the production team.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and the sales team regarding project requirements and pricing.
- Assist with production planning, material requirements, and job scheduling.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including Sheet Metal design.
- Experience preparing quotations and estimating costs for custom sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Thorough understanding of laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake forming, welding, and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is an asset.
- AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
