Founded in 1979, Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest boarding high school in Canada. During our 44 years of history, parents from over 120 countries have placed their children in CIC’ care.

CIC offers the Total Care Education System to support students to achieve their goal of getting into a post-secondary institution of their choice. Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.

The Employee’s duties as Housekeeper shall include but are not limited to the following, which may be amended from time to time:

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

· Clean common areas, entrances, stairwells, as well as clean and disinfect surfaces.

· Collect and dispose of waste

· Clean restrooms, including mirrors, toilets, and showers

· Clean classrooms: sweep, mop, clean chalk/white boards, wipe down furniture

Clean offices: sweep, mop, vacuum

· Clean residence – rooms, bathrooms, common areas, change garbage, sweep, mop, vacuum

· Respond promptly and courteously to staff requests for cleaning

· Use of floor scrub machines

· Strip and wax floors

· Use cleaning equipment and other cleaning tools.

· Report any necessary repairs or replacements, or damages

· Excellent grooming standards

· Knowledge of Workplace, Health, Safety

· Strong communication skills

· Great attention to detail

· Perform all other duties identified or as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lb. or 10 kg. for short periods of time as required by daily operations
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time

Academic/Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma is preferred

Hours of Work:

· Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays to accommodate operational needs.

· Expected to work at and rotate among different school and residence locations as required to deliver the highest total student care possible.
