About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at the Bowen Icon Cancer Centre. You will play a crucial role in providing quality pharmacy service to optimise care for patients undergoing cancer treatment in collaboration with centre staff, visiting oncologists and haematologists.
Working closely alongside the Nurse Unit Manager, this temporary role, (covering extended leave), is flexible and can be delivered remotely with some onsite time (all travel and accommodation paid). Home office technology is supplied.

Key responsibilities:
  • Clinical screening of cancer therapies to ensure safe and effective use of cancer medicines.
  • Coordinate the supply of cancer therapies
  • Inventory management including medicines access programmes
  • Provide treatment costing for cancer therapies
  • Provide education for patients and whanau on cancer therapies and supportive care medicines
  • Provide clinical trials pharmacy service
  • Utilise your clinical skills to improve the outcome for cancer patients.
  • Perform medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation.
  • Record clinical interventions.
  • Build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
About you:
As a NZ registered pharmacist, with a current APC, you will be experienced in an oncology pharmacy setting, have a team orientated attitude and the ability to manage your own workload with excellent communication skills. Experience in clinical trials is strongly preferred. You will be highly driven, have high attention to detail and a passion for building on clinical skills and knowledge.
