Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver exceptional care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and be skilled in managing the unique needs of cancer patients. This role requires excellent patient assessment skills, a commitment to providing emotional support to patients and families, and the ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
Duties
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients for side effects of treatments, managing symptoms and complications effectively.
- Provide patient education regarding cancer treatments, side effects, and symptom management.
- Assess patients' physical and emotional health, providing supportive care to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate with oncologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create and adjust care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control measures, and patient privacy regulations.
- Support patients and families emotionally, offering guidance and compassion during their cancer journey.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology nursing or a related specialized field.
- Inpatient care experience is required.
Requirements
- Active RN license in NY
- 2+years Current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion
- Chemo Cert (ONS) and Oncology Certified RN (OCN) - REQUIRED
- Peripheral IV Insertion experience - Required
- Port/Fistula/Catheter experience Required
- IV Certification Required
- EPIC Experience - Required
- Previous traveler preferred
- BSN preferred
