Overview
Camp Gencheff is looking for a one-to-one support worker for a client who is on the Autism Spectrum. This position pays $18.00-$21.00 hour and would start as a casual/part time basis. As a one-to-one support worker you will be working with a young man who has higher needs and requires extra support catered to their specific needs. Our one-to-ones must be adaptable, have the ability to think on their feet and make decisions with their one-to-ones best interest in mind.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with one client
- Continually encourage and engage clients in fun and challenging activities that meet specific client needs while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
- Aid one-to-one client in learning life skills to assist them in developing their day to day life.
- Follow directions from management and supervisors
- Follow and facilitate activities IBI and IEP (If applicable)
- Provide personal care and cater to dietary needs as needed
- Support One to One in all areas of development
- Follow all Camp Gencheff Policies and procedures
- Work in a team environment
- Administrative duties as required
Qualifications
- Up to date Criminal record and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid CPR/First Aid
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Post secondary student or graduate from a post secondary institution in a related field and/or, a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience working with individuals on the Autism spectrum
- Experience with IBI/IEP
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
