About the position
The incumbent conducts Open Source Investigation and analysis to produce Open Source Intelligence products that comply with current court standards and case law. They utilize investigative tools to support investigators and senior management, while providing consultative services on Internet investigative techniques and legal processes. They serve as a subject matter expert in Open Source Investigation and Open Source Intelligence, participate in specialized working groups and committees, and contribute to training by developing and delivering the accredited three-day course Introduction to Open Source Internet Research. They maintain a network of internal and external contacts within the RCMP, other law enforcement agencies, and partner organizations to exchange intelligence, share best practices, and address common concerns, thereby enhancing investigative techniques. The incumbent also engages in conferences, seminars, and training opportunities to remain current in the field of Open Source Investigation and Open Source Intelligence, and leads research projects to collect, analyze, and synthesize data for the development of intelligence products.
