Operations Research Analyst

Working closely with the Logistics, Account Management, and Data Science teams, the Operations Research Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert in the use of mathematical modeling to optimize the efficiency of our fleet of trucks, while maintaining an exemplary level of service for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Build, enhance, and maintain optimization models with the aim of maximizing company profitability and delivery timeliness, subject to operational and business constraints
• Serve as “level 1” support for internal stakeholder questions regarding network optimization plans

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.)
• A deep understanding of optimization modeling techniques
• Experience with solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, FICO
• Working knowledge of Python

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience formulating and solving the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP)
• Prior experience with SQL
• Prior experience with Hexaly Optimizer
• Prior experience using Spark to handle big data
• Prior experience with a BI tool such as Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, etc.
• A demonstrated ability to build model prototypes to address business needs and ultimately turn them into tools used in a production environment
