We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Operations Supervisor, Commodities & Coin, to join our Inside Operations Team. They will play a critical part in leading the day-to-day silver transactions for the Toronto Branch. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Inside Operations, this individual will oversee physical and non-physical movements, routine reporting and analysis, and supervise team members within the assigned Division and unionized environment. The posting is for an existing vacancy. Salary range: $66,500 - $75,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Coordinate-to-end logistical flow, ensuring efficient staging and movement of all inbound and outbound inventory.
- Managing the inventory reconciliation workflow, including executing comprehensive counts, performing deep-dive analysis of variances, and implementing corrective actions to maintain audit-ready data integrity.
- Work closely with internal teams to evolve the processes and protocols for precious metals and streamline operational workflows that support organizational goals.
- Overseeing the daily and monthly reconciliation of market values to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy.
Administration
- Creating and maintaining weekly work schedules to align labour hours with operational forecasts and volume.
- Administration of petty cash reimbursements and reconciliation.
- Basic payroll functions such as reviewing and approving timecards.
- Recordkeeping and employee data maintenance.
Employee & Labour Relations
- Ensure demonstration and promotion of company policies, operational processes/procedures, and Company Values.
- Fostering a collaborative environment with Unifor Local 112 by maintaining transparent dialogue with Union Leadership and leveraging strong CBA knowledge to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to leading unionized teams.
- Administering Step 1 of the grievance process by conducting thorough fact-finding and providing data-driven responses to resolve labour disputes at the branch level.
- Collaborate with senior management and internal teams on workforce planning and talent development.
- Overseeing seamless onboarding and training to ensure operational readiness for all new hires.
- Support employees by promoting a culture of well-being and positive engagement by actively championing benefits and resources managed by Total Rewards.
Health & Safety
- Promote and support a physically and mentally safe working environment through the enforcement of all Health and Safety policies.
- Report and investigate any workplace vehicle accidents or personal injuries and ensure communication and collaboration with appropriate personnel and/or team(s) (Security & Risk Management, Absence Canada, Operational Training, your local Branch Leadership, Union, HR Business Partner, and/or JHSC).
- If acting as a Health and Safety Representative, participate in monthly Health and Safety meetings, and complete building safety inspections and vehicle inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education, Training and/or Experience: At least five (5) years of progressive experience in Cash-in-Transit (CIT), ATM servicing, 3PL logistics, or comparable industry. Leading or supervising teams within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Multitasking & Compliance: Proven ability to manage high-volume, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring total adherence to regulatory compliance, internal audit standards, and security protocols.
- Adaptability: Must be flexible to work a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, to support a 24/7 logistical environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Workday and Kronos (Workforce Management), SMART (Inventory/Process), and Microsoft Office.
