Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe/Technician to join our team. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS SCRIBE!! ONLY RELEVANT APPLICANTS APPLY!! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within our clinic, assisting ophthalmologists in various procedures and ensuring a smooth workflow in the medical office environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and the ability to work effectively with patients in an optical setting.
Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
- Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Document patient history and symptoms accurately in electronic health records
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and medical equipment.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions and concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology is essential.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and procedures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to eye health.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in retail sales within an optical context is advantageous but not required.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically Epic, is desirable.
