Toronto Beach Eye Care is a busy, patient-focused optometry clinic located in the Beaches area of Toronto. We are currently seeking an experienced Optical Assistant / Optical Sales Associate to join our friendly and professional team.

The ideal candidate will have strong optical sales experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to confidently assist patients with frame selection, lens options, and eyewear purchases.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with frame selection, styling, and fit
• Educating patients about lens materials, coatings, and treatment options
• Recommending eyewear solutions based on each patient’s prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs
• Taking accurate optical measurements, including pupillary distances and fitting heights
• Preparing, processing, and tracking orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses
• Adjusting, repairing, and dispensing eyewear
• Providing quotes, processing payments, and assisting with insurance submissions
• Booking appointments and helping manage patient flow
• Maintaining accurate patient records using EMR software
• Performing pre-testing and assisting doctors when required
• Supporting the front desk and completing general administrative duties
• Delivering friendly, professional, and attentive service throughout the patient experience

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience working in an optical clinic, dispensary, or eyewear retail environment
• Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, coatings, measurements, and optical products
• Confidence in optical sales and recommending appropriate eyewear solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable using EMR, point-of-sale, and office software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Experience with OHIP billing and optometry-office procedures is an asset
