OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Part Time dedicated and detail oriented optometric assistant to join our team in the Southeast of Calgary. You will be a part of a dynamic eyecare team that supports our optometrists in providing organized and exceptional patient care in a timely manner which includes but not limited to patient intake, pretesting, insurance direct billing and contact lens training. The Ideal candidate should be able to handle day to day operations in the office and must be a team player, effective at communicating with others and multitasking in a timely manner.

Job details and responsibilities

● Patient Care / Pretesting of patients on autorefraction, tonometry, visual field testing,

retina camera photography/OCT (Optos), lensometry, depth perception and color vision

● Medical Chart management / Handling and coordinating Referrals

● Scheduling and managing appointments

● Greeting and welcoming patients

● Troubleshooting patient concerns

● Working with the team to ensure all patients receive exceptional service

● Understanding and triaging emergency eye care.

● Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

●Managing contact lens patients and inspection of contact lenses on arrival

● Selling contact lenses and frame accessories

● Processing insurance claims

● Punctual and able to multitask in a busy environment

Experience

Will only review applicants with at least 1 year experience in optometry, ophthalmology and or optical.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Additional pay:

• Commission pay
