Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eye care, patient communication, and clinical procedures. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive eye examinations, prescribe corrective lenses, and deliver exceptional patient care across diverse age groups, including pediatrics and senior care. The Optometrist will work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced electronic health record systems such as Epic, ensuring efficient and accurate documentation. Candidates with experience in optical services, medical terminology, and sales are highly valued.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and overall eye health
- Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
- Provide specialized care for pediatric patients and seniors, addressing unique visual requirements
- Educate patients on eye health maintenance, contact lens fitting, and safety practices
- Utilize electronic health records (Epic) for accurate documentation of patient encounters
- Collaborate with optical staff to assist in frame selection and sales of eyewear products
- Stay current with advancements in optometry practices and participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Experience with optical services, pediatrics, senior care, and patient-centered care preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and build rapport with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and adapt to evolving clinical practices
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $500.00-$1,500.00 per day
Work Location: In person
