Competitive hourly rate of $16-20/hour (based on experience and certifications)

About the Job
- Conduct preliminary vision tests and take detailed patient histories
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures with precision and attention to detail
- Prepare patients for examination and assist the optometrist during procedures
- Provide patient education and explain patient options with clarity and compassion
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth patient flow
- Stay current with the latest developments in ophthalmic technology and procedures
- Assist in optometric procedures and provide post care instructions
Optometry Technician Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting
- Basic understanding of ocular anatomy and common eye conditions
- Proficiency with ophthalmic equipment and testing procedures
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Experience with electronic health records systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical privacy requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment
- Valid certification in CPR
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is a plus
