Experienced Oracle DBA to manage and optimize Oracle environments running on Amazon RDS for Oracle. This offshore role provides 24/7 coverage and focuses on availability, performance, security, automation, and GoldenGate-based replication/migration support.
Core Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle databases on Amazon RDS: provisioning, configuration, patching, maintenance windows, and upgrades.
- Manage performance using RDS Performance Insights, CloudWatch, OEM, AWR/ADDM, and related tools.
- Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and RDS snapshots.
- Support high availability, multi-AZ deployments, DR planning/testing, and GoldenGate replication.
- Troubleshoot production issues, address performance bottlenecks, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Automate operational tasks using Shell, Python/Perl, AWS CLI, and basic SDK tooling.
- Maintain security standards, user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Required Experience
- 5+ years Oracle DBA experience (11g–21c).
- 2+ years with Amazon RDS for Oracle.
- Strong SQL/PLSQL, RMAN, performance tuning, and Linux/Unix administration.
- Hands-on GoldenGate experience.
- Solid understanding of AWS fundamentals (VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS configurations).
Nice to Have
- ASM exposure, DMS experience, or familiarity with other RDS engines.
- Oracle OCP or AWS certifications.
Work Model
Offshore, remote, partial US-time overlap, rotational 24/7 on-call support.
