This position holds functional supervisory authority overnight, providing real-time direction, decision-making support, and crisis leadership to frontline staff. Key Responsibilities

- Ensure exterior checks are completed to manage unauthorized presence.
- Respond to staff requests for support related to emergency service involvement (EMS/RCMP/FIRE).
- Act as the primary overnight lead for critical incidents, including deaths, major medical emergencies, evacuations, and serious staff-related incidents.
- Provide immediate debrief and support to staff following critical or high-stress events.
- Accompany staff to hospital in cases of workplace exposure and advocate for timely medical attention.
- Support staff in assessing and troubleshooting maintenance or building-related issues. Determine when after-hours external services (plumber, electrician, elevator technician) are required and coordinate emergency maintenance response as needed.
- Make in-the-moment decisions when situations fall outside standard procedures, using best judgment and available information. Balance risk, safety, and program intent when determining appropriate actions.
- Escalate to Program Managers when required, including staff death, building evacuations with no re-entry, or situations that require extensive additional support.
- Provide direct verbal handover to the oncoming Program Managers regarding decisions requiring follow-up.
