We are looking for an experienced paediatric dietitian with great communication skills to join our Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital. In joining our team, you will not only become a valued member of our wider multi-disciplinary team, but you will be welcomed in as part of our specialised Paediatric Dietetic team who work across Waitakere Hospital, North Shore and Wilson Centre bases.

This position is a part time role for an innovative and committed dietitian to provide a child and family centred quality service. This role includes a range of work based in the Rangatira Ward (inpatient Children’s ward), the Special Care Baby Unit, outpatient clinics and community. The responsibilities of this position allow you to work in an interdisciplinary manner with a wide range of paediatric diagnoses.

We are committed to the New Zealand Dietitians Board Continuing Competency Programme. You will be provided with clinical and professional supervision and be encouraged to access both internal and external professional development opportunities. Waitemata District Health Board values quality care and supports clinicians wishing to pursue initiatives to improve client outcomes including research projects and innovative care.

This is a paediatric position and we are keen to hear from an experienced Dietitian interested in developing their expertise in the field of paediatric dietetics.

Essential Qualifications

  • New Zealand Registered Dietitian
  • Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Current New Zealand driver's licence
  • Experience working cross-culturally
  • Broad clinical experience
  • 2 years post-graduate experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Dietitians Prescribing Scope of Practice
  • Current Member of the Dietitians New Zealand
  • Experience working with children
  • Teaching skills
  • Experience in research
