Job Title: PARALEGAL – PROBATE

Reports To: Estate Planning Attorneys

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Employment Status: Full Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide support to multiple Estate Planning attorneys
• Preparation of simple and complex wills, life insurance trusts, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents Preparation of various probate and heirship pleadings, and assistance with administration of decedents' estates, including review of financial documents, i.e. bank statements, court records, and probate records
• Communicate with various contacts to collect case information. Be responsive to client requests
• Prepare, file, and schedule documents and/or hearings and prepare attorney files
• Stay up to date on relevant laws, policies, and best practices for probate cases
• Assist with issues related to trusts and family business entities, including the preparation of real property deeds, bills of sale, and transfer directives
• Preparing and maintaining client bills and files through the entire billing process including communication with the client as applicable
• Assistance with the other matters as they relate to the Estate Planning/Probate Team

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: may include but are not limited to:

• Supporting other staff with overflow work as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate would possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. They would also have extensive knowledge of Probate and Estate Planning. Interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail are essential to communicate effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and to provide information with courtesy and tact. Must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and have a willingness to learn.

*Position may be eligible for hybrid schedule.
