Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parking Officer to join our Community Laws team. As our Parking Officer, you will make a difference daily by providing effective and efficient Parking Enforcement duties across the municipality to create and maintain an environment that preserves and enhances public health and safety.

This is a full time, Band 4, permanent role. Remuneration will be $71,212.94 - $75,849.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. A tool of trade vehicle is also included.

Please note: This position may involve a spread of working hours, including the possibility of weekend shifts.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and dealing with the public in complex situations.
  • Ability to correctly interpret and apply relevant Legislation and regulations.
  • Self-motivation, initiative and the ability to produce work outcomes in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to relate to others both within the organisation and outside of Council.
  • Experience in assisting writing reports and preparing evidence for court.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a team philosophy and willingness to participate in continuous improvement of work practices.
  • Computer literacy, including the use of MS Office and parking enforcement systems, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
