About the Role:
Portmarnock Community School’s Adult Education Department is seeking an energetic, skilled, and engaging Ballroom Dancing Instructor to deliver our popular evening hobby course for the upcoming Autumn 2026 term. This class is designed for adult beginners and social dancers who want to learn the fundamentals of classic ballroom styles (such as the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, or Cha-Cha) in a fun, relaxed, and welcoming community environment

Schedule & Details:

• Term Dates: Starts Thursday 24th September 2026 (Runs for 10 weeks, excluding the October mid-term break).
• Class Times: Thursdays, 6:30pm – 7:30pm (1 hour contact time per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach foundational ballroom steps, rhythm, posture, and partner-dancing etiquette.
• Structure classes to accommodate individuals, couples, and absolute beginners with no prior dance experience.
• Create an encouraging, energetic, and highly social atmosphere in the school hall or studio.
• Select appropriate, engaging music playlists to accompany weekly routines.

Requirements & Experience:

• Strong background and expertise in ballroom dancing, social dancing, or latin dance.
• Previous experience teaching group dance classes or workshops (ideally with adults) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, enthusiastic personality that builds student confidence.

Please Note:
As this is an evening adult education hobby course, the contract is subject to viable enrollment numbers. The position will proceed only if sufficient student registrations are achieved to run the course.
