APEX Heart Centre is a high-volume, physician-led community cardiology practice focused on delivering advanced outpatient cardiovascular diagnostics with an emphasis on patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and collaborative teamwork. Our team consists of experienced professionals who are dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing high-end quality patient care. Cardiologists are onsite and readily available for supervision and collaborative case review.

We are currently seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join our team for a part-time position. Competitive compensation offered and commensurate with experience, advanced stress echo expertise, and technical skill set.

Job Description;

• Performing different echocardiography modalities, including but not limited to M-mode, 2D, Doppler and color Doppler for patients with (but not limited to) valvular dysfunction, cardiomyopathy assessments or structural follow-up.
• Contrast Echo using agitated saline and Definity
• Certificate and competency in IV insertion
• Collaboration with cardiologists

Responsibilities;

• Ensure patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to performing test while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Monitor patient throughout test for changes in vital signs, recognizing symptoms, documenting on file, and understanding when to alert supervising physician for assistance
• Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required
• Ensures ultrasound equipment maintenance and quality assurance procedures are completed according to clinic standards
• Properly documents all test results and ensures they are sent to physician for reporting

Qualifications;

• Ideal candidate will have experience in independent performance of adult transthoracic echocardiology
• ARDMS or CARDUP certified with CMRITO registration mandatory
• Valid registration with Sonography Canada
• Our clinic utilizes modern GE and Philips ultrasound equipment to support high-quality diagnostic imaging
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment

As part of our team, you will enjoy working with a consistent daytime schedule (no overnight/on-call), working Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, scanning patients in an out-patient environment, working within a collaborative culture supported by modern equipment and enjoy an efficient workflow.
