About the Role

FRS Farm Services are seeking motivated and reliable spring dairy workers to support Irish dairy farms during the busy calving and peak-production season. This role involves hands-on work with livestock, particularly around calving, calf rearing, and general herd care. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop skills, gain experience, and work within a trusted national organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with calving, including monitoring cows, recognising issues early, and supporting safe deliveries.
• Perform calf-rearing duties: feeding, bedding, tagging, health checks, and maintaining calf housing.
• Support milking operations as required.
• Monitor animal health and welfare, reporting concerns promptly.
• Carry out general yard work, machinery operation (where experienced), and farm maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and work organisation.
• Follow FRS and farm-specific guidelines, ensuring professionalism and safety at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience with dairy farming or livestock required
• Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends during peak periods.
• Good physical fitness and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.
• Strong attention to animal welfare and hygiene.
• Reliable, responsible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Personal Qualities

• Dependable and punctual.
• Calm, confident, and safety-conscious around animals.
• Good communication skills and positive work attitude.
