Part-Time English-Speaking Companion for a 12-Year-Old - Bordeaux (Nansouty) - ASAP

A lovely family based in the Nansouty area of Bordeaux is looking for a warm, engaging, and native-level English-speaking companion to help their 12-year-old child improve their English through natural conversation and meaningful activities.

This is a long-term part-time position start asap.

The family is seeking someone confident, kind, curious, and able to create a positive English-speaking environment through conversation, cultural exchange, and everyday activities. The role is not a traditional after-school nanny position, but rather an opportunity to support the child’s English development in a relaxed and stimulating way.

Schedule:

• 2 evenings per week (to select) from 5 or 5.30pm/ 7 or 7.30pm
• Approximately 2 hours each evening
• Around 4 hours per week (maximum 5 hours)

Main responsibilities:

• Encouraging structured and natural conversations in English
• Helping the child gain confidence speaking English in daily life
• Sharing interesting cultural topics, games, discussions, and age-appropriate activities
• Occasionally proposing small outings or outdoor activities in English
• Building a trusting and positive relationship with the child
• Creating an engaging, immersive, and encouraging English-speaking environment

Please note:

• No traditional childcare duties
• The role focuses primarily on conversational English and cultural interaction

Compensation:

• Between 16 and 18€ net/hour depending on profile and experience
• Paid holidays included in the hourly rate
