Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Weekend baker (both Saturday and Sunday). This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in food preparation, baking, and mixing. The successful candidate will contribute to creating beautiful, delicious baked goods and desserts while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, particularly in cake decorating and food handling, in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Candidates MUST live within 5-10 km from the bakery
• Available for BOTH Saturday and Sunday, Non Negotiable (plus additional days if needed)
• Available to work morning shifts that start between 6:00am and 7:00am, Non Negotiable
• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, adhering to established recipes and quality standards
• Decorate cupcakes within our standards
• Assist with food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are properly handled, stored, and used in accordance with food safety regulations
• Prepare batters, frostings, cookie dough and other products
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, following proper food handling procedures
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for staff and customers

Experience

• Previous experience in a bakery is preferred
• Skills in cake decorating and food presentation are highly desirable
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential
• Experience with food preparation, cooking, baking, and packaging in a fast-paced setting is beneficial
• Kitchen experience within the food industry will be considered an asset
• Candidates passionate about baking and providing exceptional customer experiences are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $17.20-$19.00 per hour
