Job Description

SpiderSmart Learning Center of Waterloo is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our team as part-time French tutors. In this role, you’ll work with students in small-group settings (up to 3 students per class) using our ready-to-use SpiderSmart curriculum, or have the opportunity to develop and enhance our in-center French program.

We are looking for teachers who can deliver French language instruction to students in Grade 1 to Grade 8 and above in an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach small-group sessions (up to 3 students per class) following the SpiderSmart curriculum and methodologies
• Provide individualized feedback and guidance to help students improve their French reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
• Track student progress and communicate results effectively
• Create a positive, focused, and encouraging learning atmosphere

Qualifications (Required)

• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), or accepted into an OCT program (starting September or earlier)
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

• Experience teaching or tutoring French (Core, Extended, or Immersion)
• Experience working with children in classroom or tutoring settings
• Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and academic levels
• Passion for language education and student development
