Part Time Help On Hog Farm

Spruit farms Ltd is a growing company and known as a modern, progressive, family atmosphere farm. As a team we are committed to raise high quality pigs in the most efficient and profitable way, with respect for the welfare of the pigs.

The farm is a farrow-to-wean with part finishing hog operation, located near Red Deer and Stettler, Alberta with currently 12 full time employees.

The Red Deer location has 2100 sows with internal production of replacement stock.

In Stettler County, Spruit Farms Ltd has a feed mill, an 8000-nursery barn and 7000 finisher spaces on 2 locations East and South of the town of Stettler. Both locations are about 30 km from Stettler.

We are currently looking for a part time farm help for our team for the Stettler area.

The work consists of the following, among other tasks:

Health check of pigs

Weighing and moving pigs

Check if all automatic feeding, ventilation and heating is working as it should

Receive and ship pigs.

Pressure washing rooms and keeping them clean as pigs grow.

Unloading and loading of trucks with feed ingredients and complete feed.

Assist in all feed mill related jobs like inventory tracking, cleaning and minor maintenance of feed mill.

Of course we will train the successful applicant, but experience is an asset.
