Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in preparing and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food service and a desire to gain experience in the food industry. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining safety standards to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to recipes and standards
Handle food safely, following proper hygiene and sanitation protocols
Support cooking activities, including basic knife skills and ingredient prep
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment
Help with dishwashing and waste disposal to uphold sanitation standards
Organize and store ingredients properly for easy access during meal service
Assist with catering events or special meal requests as needed
Support serving staff during meal service periods when required

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is preferred
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
Basic culinary skills including knife skills and meal preparation techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Strong attention to cleanliness and safety standards
Reliable, punctual, and able to work part-time hours including weekends if necessary
Prior kitchen or food industry experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
