Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in preparing and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food service and a desire to gain experience in the food industry. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining safety standards to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to recipes and standards
- Handle food safely, following proper hygiene and sanitation protocols
- Support cooking activities, including basic knife skills and ingredient prep
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment
- Help with dishwashing and waste disposal to uphold sanitation standards
- Organize and store ingredients properly for easy access during meal service
- Assist with catering events or special meal requests as needed
- Support serving staff during meal service periods when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Basic culinary skills including knife skills and meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Strong attention to cleanliness and safety standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work part-time hours including weekends if necessary
- Prior kitchen or food industry experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Work Location: In person
