Title: Sales Assistant

Responsible to: Supervisor / Store Management

Main Purpose of the Job: To merchandise and rotate stock in grocery department.

Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards in all departments; Processing of customer sales, deliveries and requests; Handling and recording all customer queries and complaints; Ensuring customer transactions are carried out efficiently and effectively; Providing a bag packing service at the check out and informing customers of the various services, products and promotions on offer.

Main Duties:

• To ensure that all sections of the grocery department are merchandised and presented to the highest standard.
• To ensure you understand and comply with all company hygiene, HACCP and food safety procedures.
• To adhere to all company rules, policies and procedures at all times.
• To wear full uniform, name badge, and display a neat appearance at all times.
• To provide a friendly, efficient and polite service to all our customers at all times.
• To complete customer sales at checkout as per store procedures.
• To process internal store charges, coupons, vouchers account charges and stamps as per store procedures.
• To complete customer shopping orders when requested by management.
• To assist customer to pack shopping bags at checkout area as required.
• To provide a trolley to car service and home delivery service when requested by management.
• To be familiar and comply with all Health & Safety Regulations particularly those pertaining to your role and to report any breaches to store management.
• To be familiar with all price promotions and continuity promotions and be able to explain and promote such to our customers.
• To carry out any other duties as requested by management /supervisors from time to time.
