Stolen Stitches is looking to add a Shop Floor Assistant to our small team.

We’re looking for a friendly, detail-oriented knitter to join us for approximately 15 hours per week at our shop on Tramore Road, Cork.

You’ll be joining a small, friendly team and spending your working day surrounded by yarn, patterns and plenty of conversations about what everyone is knitting next.

This is a hands-on role in our studio, so you’ll be helping customers find the right yarn, answering knitting questions, keeping the shop looking its best and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

About you

You’ll have:

  • Good knitting knowledge and confidence talking to other knitters
  • A friendly, helpful approach to customer service
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Confidence using computers and basic spreadsheets
  • A motivated, self-directed approach to your work
  • Previous retail experience is a bonus, but not essential

What you’ll be doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting customers and helping them with purchases and knitting queries
  • Processing sales and handling transactions
  • Maintaining the shop floor, including restocking and keeping shelves and displays tidy
  • Keeping an eye on stock and flagging any issues or stock needs to the manager
  • Carrying out stocktakes when required
  • Winding yarn
  • Preparing and parcelling customer orders
  • Helping with general shop tasks as needed

Hours

Approximately 15 hours per week, currently planned as:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am–3pm

There is some flexibility around the working days and hours, but Fridays are essential.

Hourly rate: 15 euro per hour
