The Bridge Way School is Pennsylvania's first and only recovery high school empowering youth on their journey of recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our small community of 25-40 students is in need of a NEW! part-time Spanish teacher to uplift our community in understanding world language and cultures. We especially invite trauma-informed applicants who have experience working with youth and/or people in recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• PA Teaching Certification strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt instruction for students with varying reading levels and language acquisition backgrounds.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed, strength‑based, and non‑judgmental educational practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to model professionalism and empathy.
• Experience working with youth in recovery, behavioral health, or alternative education settings is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach meaningful, culturally rich Spanish lessons that spark curiosity and help students see themselves as capable language learners.
• Adapt instruction and materials to honor diverse reading levels, learning styles, and academic histories.
• Use trauma‑informed practices that promote emotional safety, consistency, and trust.
• Build authentic, professional relationships that affirm students’ strengths and support their recovery journey.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive holistic, coordinated support.
• Create a structured, predictable classroom environment where students can take academic risks and experience success.

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
