Busy family-owned truck repair shop is looking for 1 full time person to drive throughout Suffolk County to pick up parts from various vendors as well as shuttling technicians to and from job sites. When not picking up parts you would be performing general custodian tasks and light building and grounds maintenance. Great job for retirees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Using the company vehicle, drive to various vendors throughout Suffolk County to pick-up parts. This task must be done swiftly, correctly and safely.
• Drive technicians to and from work sites.
• Use a forklift to move heavy garbage to the dumpster and metal waste bin.
• Perform minor building and grounds maintenance like repairing leaking faucets, unclogging sinks, light painting, hanging pictures, changing light bulbs and HVAC filters, changing door knobs, etc.
• Sweeping and moping shop bays.
• Cleaning 4 restrooms, 2 offices, 2 lunch rooms and 2 stairwells.
• Emptying pails in shops and offices.
• Snow removal in winter using snow blower to clear walkways.
• Assemble and move furniture as needed.
• Other tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean NYS Driver’s License and driving record.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in order fully comprehend job assignments.
• Basic knowledge of light plumbing, carpenter, painting and grounds-keeping.
• Skill in the use of a variety of tools (including both hand and electric tools and forklift)
• Ability to perform tasks required bending, stooping, twist and kneeling and lifting to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work overhead and on ladder.
• Detailed work ethic, be enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful.
• Must speak English and authorized to work in the United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
