Patient Care Coordinator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive exceptional care and support throughout their healthcare journey. You will work closely with medical professionals to facilitate patient appointments, manage records, and enhance overall patient satisfaction.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of provider time.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical documentation in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure timely communication between providers.
  • Assist in managing insurance verification and pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Provide administrative support in a medical or dental office setting, including answering phones and responding to inquiries.
  • Utilize medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions and clinical information.

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in ophthalmology or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an ophthalmic or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using office software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility to accommodate evening hours weekly until 7 pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
