Overview
The Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for patients within a healthcare setting. This position involves managing patient referrals, coordinating appointments, and handling administrative tasks to support the overall operations of the Pharmacy. This position does not have face-to-face interaction with patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology and Multitasking.
Duties
- Communicate with referral sources and patients to set up home infusions.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments to optimize pharmacy workflow.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
- Utilize software systems such as Microsoft Teams, Excel and outlook for patient records management.
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and any necessary documentation.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Assist in the hiring of new employees and HR related assignments
- Collaborate with case managers and nurses to facilitate seamless patient care.
Skills
- Multitasking and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with pharmacy environments and administrative processes is preferred.
- Strong typing skills, including 10 key typing accuracy for data entry tasks.
- Experience with software systems like Microsoft teams is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff alike.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
