GenesisCare is proud to be opening a brand-new Cancer Centre in Werribee, in partnership with St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee, bringing high‑quality, patient‑centred cancer care closer to home for the growing western Melbourne community.
As part of this exciting expansion, we are seeking compassionate and highly organised Patient Services Officers (Medical Receptionists) to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the establishment of a new centre and make a meaningful difference to patients and families from day one.
As a Patient Services Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing professional, warm and efficient administrative support across the patient journey. You are a crucial link between patients, clinicians and the broader care team, helping to ensure every interaction reflects GenesisCare’s commitment to compassion, excellence and respect.
We have one permanent full-time role available and one part time role on a 12-month maximum term contract.
More Specifically you will:
Provide a high standard of patient‑centred customer service, ensuring patients feel supported and welcomed at every visit.Manage incoming phone calls and patient enquiries in line with privacy requirements.
Schedule and coordinate doctor consult appointments and support clinic workflows.
Register new patients and maintain accurate patient and billing records within Mosaiq.
Prepare and maintain patient documentation to support consult, follow‑up and treatment appointments.
Scan, manage and maintain correspondence and referrals.
Work collaboratively with clinicians and the wider care team to support smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Monitor and respond to patient feedback to continually improve service delivery.
We’d love to hear from those that have:
Demonstrated experience in a patient‑focused administrative or customer service role (healthcare experience highly regarded).Strong communication skills with an exceptional phone manner.
High attention to detail and confidence managing patient records and systems.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible, adaptable and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience with medical administration systems and Medicare billing processes is desirable.
Diploma of Medical Administration or equivalent experience preferred.
