Aalto University Treasury is responsible for debt financing, cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, financial risk management and bank relationships for the Aalto University Group. In addition, Treasury acts as a controlling and back-office function to Aalto University’s endowment, which has a market value of approx. EUR 1.5 billion.

Payment Process Lead
In this position you will have a chance to work in a dynamic team of finance and investment professionals and make an impact by playing an instrumental role in ensuring that the payment and cash management operations of Aalto University Group are organized in an efficient, secure and compliant manner. Your role and goals
The role of Payment Process Lead is a unique opportunity to work in a small and dynamic team with key stakeholders across Aalto University’s own organization, banks and other external system and service providers.
Your role will be new at Aalto University and cover the responsibility for developing the Group’s payment processes and related system environment. To succeed in the role, it’s critical that you have a good understanding of what well organized payment processes should look like, both from the system and governance point of view. You will report to Head of Treasury but work closely also with Aalto Finance Process and System Support and Aalto Finance Shared Service teams.
Your key tasks as Payment Process Lead include:
  • Development of Aalto University Group’s payment processes and control environment
  • Development and streamlining of the Group’s payment system landscape that currently includes Nomentia and bank specific online banking platforms, in addition to various online and mobile payment solutions and point of sales systems
  • Responsibility for the search and coordination of tendering, selection and implementation of new solutions
  • Monitoring relevant regulatory changes and coordinating the implementation of needed changes across the Group
Your experience and ambitions
  • Relevant academic education/degree
  • 5+ years of experience in payment and cash management e.g. in a large corporation/organization or a bank
  • Sufficient knowledge and strong interest in fintech (latest developments, products and opportunities)
  • High degree of integrity
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Excellent command of Finnish and English
  • Knowledge of Nomentia and/or Oracle Fusion is considered a plus

We work in a hybrid and flexible way; our physical workplace is at our campus in Otaniemi, Espoo. Life at the transformed campus is vibrant and filled with amazing architecture, calming nature, and a variety of cafes, restaurants, services along with good public transportation connections. This is a permanent position starting upon agreement but preferably as soon as possible. The starting salary will be between 5000 – 5800 €/month depending on your experience.
In the first phase of the recruitment process, we invite chosen candidates to short video interview. Based on the video interviews, some candidates are interviewed on campus and in the final phase best candidates are invited to assessments.
