ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our Finance team, working part-time (3 days per week). This is a 12 month Parental Leave cover contract position.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large employee base across both Viktoria & Woods and The Lofft Agency. You will also provide essential accounting support for both brands. In this role, you will be a key contributor in maintaining compliance, including WorkCover and payroll tax obligations, and providing excellent service to our employees. You will be proficient Elmo payroll software and experience within a large retail environment is highly desirable. Experience with Xero and Cin7 is also highly reqarded.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will:
- Ensure the compliant, accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large Award covered employee base using Elmo software.
- Input and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, changes in pay, and leave.
- Respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and regulations, including WorkCover and payroll tax requirements.
- Administration of employee benefits, deductions and WorkCover claims.
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and resolve discrepancies.
- Support accounting duties, including accounts payable and reconciliations.
- Utilise and maintain proficiency in Elmo payroll software, as well as Xero and Cin7 for The Lofft Agency ad-hoc accounting tasks.
- Support the Finance, Retail and HR teams with ad-hoc tasks as required.
YOU WILL BRING:
- Proven experience in a payroll and accounting support role, preferably within a large retail or Award based environment.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and legislation.
- Experience with Elmo payroll software, Xero and Cin7 is desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
