Pca Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital. The Personal Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to individuals across diverse age groups, including geriatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Help with mobility and transportation within the facility.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care activities as required.
  • Support nursing staff in medical-surgical tasks as needed.
  • Assist in outpatient care settings, including follow-up visits and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in training programs related to emergency medicine and trauma care.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to geriatrics, PICU, emergency medicine, and inpatient care is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality patient care.
  • Must be able to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
  • Certification or training in CPR/First Aid is desirable.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 11 per week

  • Golden, MS: Relocate before starting work (Required)
